Course content
The course covers the following topics:
- The nature and scope of access scaffolding
- Types and classes of scaffolding systems (tower, mobile, bird cage, etc.)
- Identifying and using personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Scaffolding hand tools and equipment handling methods
- Setting out and stabilising scaffold structures
- Safe procedures for assisting with scaffold erection and dismantling
- Stacking, storing, and removing scaffolding materials from site
- Understanding and applying SANS 10085 safety standards
