Over two days, you’ll develop the hands-on ability to support your team in setting up and taking down access scaffolding safely and efficiently. The course covers the following topics:

  • The nature and scope of access scaffolding
  • Types and classes of scaffolding systems (tower, mobile, bird cage, etc.)
  • Identifying and using personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Scaffolding hand tools and equipment handling methods
  • Setting out and stabilising scaffold structures
  • Safe procedures for assisting with scaffold erection and dismantling
  • Stacking, storing, and removing scaffolding materials from site
  • Understanding and applying SANS 10085 safety standards
